Jewellery stolen from a residence in Paola

Following its initial investigations, the Police said the thieves forced the font door open and broke in the house. The house is owned by two women aged 86 and 78 who were not in the house at the time of the break-in.

The thieves managed to steal jewellery, the value of which is not yet known, the Police said, adding both women were informed about the incident by the police.

Meanwhile, members of the Mobile Squad who were patrolling the area noticed a suspicious vehicle which took off as soon it saw the police.

The driver and a passenger, both men aged 31 and 34, were later apprehended by the police in Aviation Street in Luqa.
