Tonio Borg meets Amr Moussa in Cairo

Foreign minister Tonio Borg has held talks in Cairo with Arab League secretary-general Amr Moussa.

Tonio Borg's meetings in Cairo were the first in Egypt since the February revolution that ousted President Hosni Mubarak.

Moussa, is also a candidate for the forthcoming Presidential elections.

Senior government sources said that the meetings with Amr Moussa were intended to strengthen Malta's relations with the Arab League, while the two parts discussed the current uprising in Libya and the relations with Egypt.

Other meetings in Cairo were with the interim Prime Minister of Egypt Essam Sharaf.
