Labour MP files judicial protest against Il-Mument editor, PN secretary general
Labour MP Leo Brincat filed a judicial protest against the editor of Nationalist newspaper Il-Mument and PN secretary general Paul Borg Olivier over an article published last Sunday.
In an article published in Il-Mument on October 9, the paper accused the Labour Party of receiving money from former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi.
Brincat said the aim of the article was to slander him. He declared that during the whole time he served in the Labour Party, Col. Gaddafi never gave any money to the Labour Party, and that he never asked for, never received and never heard of such soliciting.
He added that former Prime Minister Eddie Fenech Adami should explain why on February 8, 2004, he chose to make Gaddafi an honorary Companion of Honour of the National Order of Merit.
Brincat called on Paul Borg Olivier and Victor Camilleri to withdraw their allegations and said he reserved the right to take further legal action.
