Three-year-old Libyan patient succumbs to injuries
Six Libyan patients who arrived in Malta today in the afternoon were admitted to the Gozo General Hospital to St James Hospital.
One of the Libyan patients brought to Malta on October 1 succumbed to his injuries last night, the Health Ministry said in a statement this evening.
The three-year-old boy died at Mater Dei’s ITU.
The Ministry said that despite knowing well that there was little hope for the little boy to survive, the decision to bring him to Malta was still taken. “This to assure that everything was done to try and save the boy’s life,” it said.
The Ministry added that the boy was flown to Libya earlier today where his parents, siblings and other relatives received him.
Meanwhile today, six Libyan patients were brought to Malta for medical treatment. The patients are all male, aged between 17 and 30.
The Ministry said all six got injured while fighting near Sirte. Three were admitted to the Gozo General Hospital, while the rest were sent to St James Hospital (Capua).
None of them are critically wounded.
