A select 700 lots from the private collection of the late Dom Mintoff will be put up for auction on Wednesday 5 March and the following days.

The collection is varied and includes Maltese 19th century furniture, a collection of walking sticks, silver, African, Eastern and Asian art, historical interest lots, metalware, militaria, paintings and books, and personal items such as wristwathced and cufflinks.

Of special mention are original cartoons form London newspapers relating to Mintoff's negotiations and relations with the British government, coins and medals.

The lots will be on view at Dom Mintoff's residence at The Olives, in Xintill Street, Tarxien over the three days from the 25-27 February.

The auction will be conducted by Joseph Sammut and will be held at Belgravia Auction Gallery, 46 Main Street, St Julian's.
