Reporter to discuss the white paper on party financing and the justice reform
Reporter on TVM will scrutinise the proposed ceilings on party financing and electoral spending and the consultation period of the white paper
The proposed White paper regualting the financing of political parties will tomorrow be at the centre of discussion on TVM's Reporter.
Championed by former PN thorn and now Law Commissioner Franco Debono, the white paper on party financing envisages the regulation of a political party's accounts, its donations and the internal structures of political parties.
Now in the process of consultation, the white paper has also propsoed a revision of the paltry amounts candidates are currently allowed to spend in an electoral campaign and prohibits donations above €50,000.
Alongside Franco Debono and MEP hopefuls Miriam Dalli and Francis Zammit Dimech, MediaToday Managing Editor Saviour Balzan will analyse the proposed white paper as well as the proposed changes within Malta's justice system.
What will the envisaged white paper entail? Are the proposed ceilings for electoral candidates too low?
Reporter on TVM will also be disucssing the government's proposed justice reform, the major challenges ahead and what are the government's next steps on the justice reform.
What changes are needed within Malta's justice system? Is the government delivering on its proposed justice reform?
The programme is produced and presented by Saviour Balzan, assisted by Jerome Caruana Cilia and the MediaToday newsroom.
Reporter is aired live every Monday at 6:55pm on TVM. The programme is repeated on TVM2 on Monday at 10:15pm.
