Honey-Buzard found in 'terrible condition'

This Honey-buzzard was found floating in the sea off the Freeport yesterday.  The bird was in a terrible condition, with two badly broken legs and a missing tail.  It was taken to the veterinary for examination and unfortunately had to be euthanized.

According to BirdLife Malta, the wild bird was most probably kept in captivity for several months which led to its terrible condition.
