Italian women hit by car in Rabat

Two Italian women sustained grievious injuries when they were hit by a car in Rabat.

The accident happened in Saqqajja Square in Rabat, soon after the women - a 41 and 51 year-old - had just come off a bus.

Both were hit by a Fiat Punto car driven by a 38 year-old man.

The two women were taken to hospital by ambulance were they were certified to be suffering from grievious injuries, but were not in danger of dying.

Police investigations are underway.
