Police deny second oil spill in Aldo Moro road

After a closer look, police confirm there are no dangerous liquids in the same place where an oil spill forced the closure of the road yesterday.

What appeared to be another oil spill in Aldo Moro road in Marsa proved to be a false alarm, Police confirmed with MaltaToday.

The alarm was triggered off after “a rusty liquid” was seen in the same area where an oil spill took place yesterday.

“The liquid in Aldo Moro road is neither slippery nor dangerous, it was just a rusty liquid,” police said in a statement.

Yesterday’s oil spill led to the closure of one of Malta’s main arterial roads, and consequently substantial traffic was reported in the area.
