Consumers’ authority issues risk warning on wooden hand drum

This toy has small parts that are easily detachable and may be swallowed by young children.

The Technical Regulations Division of the Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority advises the public that a 'wooden hand drum' toy has been found on the market that poses a serious risk to children.

This toy has small parts which are easily detachable and may be swallowed by young children. Thus this product does not conform to the applicable European Legislation.  The following photos refer to the toy in question and the detached small parts.

The MCCAA advises consumers, who bought these toys, to ensure that they do not allow their children to play with such toys and return them to the place of purchase.

Economic operators who have placed these products on the market are ordered to recall the said toys and to advise their clients to return them to the place of purchase.

Any economic operators found to be still placing these toys on the market will be liable to legal action against them, as provided for under the Product Safety Act.
