Villa Francia opens its doors to citrus festival
Proceeds from citrus and harvest festival at Villa Francia to go to Dar il-Kaptan.
Villa Francia, the Prime Minister's official residence, will open its doors to a citrus and harvest festival on Sunday 2 February.
Michelle Muscat, wife of Prime Minister Joseph Muscat, announced that proceeds from this festival will be donated to Dar il-Kaptan, a non-profit organsiation that gives respite services to persons with disabilities and their families within the community, avoiding institutionalization.
The festival is being held at the request of Lija mayor Ian Castaldi Paris. This is the first time that such a festival is taking place at Villa Francia, premises considered to be of national heritage.
The general public will be able to visit and tour the grounds of the villa.
A contribution will also be donated to the Lija Parish Church.
