Angelik’s Holy Virgin promises ‘Lourdes’ spring to flow at Borg in-Nadur
The Church says it is observing an alleged message received by Angelik Caruana, from the Virgin Mary at Borg in-Nadur.
The shrine’s followers have been congregating at Borg in-Nadur after Angelik Caruana, from Birzebbuga, claimed a statue of the Virgin Mary in his house was weeping tears of blood, back in January 2006.
According to the message delivered to Caruana on 4 August, the Virgin Mary says a spring will appear on the site and provide water that will heal the sick.
“The time is coming… soon a spring that will replenish itself, will materialise. The water will flow for some time. It will stop and then start again. With this water, many will heal and it will never be infected,” the message, posted on the Borg in-Nadur worship website, claims.
However, all hopes of a Lourdes-like centre of worship seems to have been dashed with a proviso that the holy water cannot be sold.
According to the message, the Virgin Mary said: “This water cannot be sold, never! Otherwise it will cease to flow. Everyone can take this water. It shall be free… this is my promise.”
In comments to l-orizzont, the Maltese Curia said the Church was observing the ongoing case, collecting information and consulting with its experts from the Holy See.
Sister newspaper Illum had revealed an internal Curia document had proved the blood found on the statue of the Holy Virgin had in fact been human blood, allegedly that belonging to Angelik Caruana.
