Casa, Attard Montalto the most absent MEPs

MEPrankings.eu illustrate how Nationalist MEP David Casa and Labour’s John Attard Montalto attended only six in every ten plenary votes taken in Brussels and Strasbourg.

David Casa and John Attard Montalto were the Maltese MEPs with the highest absenteeism during parliamentary votes taken in Brussels and Strasbourg during the past legislature.

Sunday newspaper Illum quotes statistics published by MEPrankings, which show Attard Montalto and Casa absent for 42% and 39% of the votes respectively.

Casa, who will contest for the third time the European elections, comes last place on voting percentages when compared with other incumbents who will also contest.

While Casa was present for just 61% of all the votes, fellow nationalist MEP Roberta Metsola was present for 95% of the votes. Labour’s head of delegation Joseph Cuschieri registered 89%, while Marlene Mizzi was present for 87% (the remaining 13% she was representing the European Parliament in non-EU developing countries.)
