PN calls for further education to overcome homophobia
PN’s equal opportunities forum calls for further education in bid to eradicate homophobia and transphobia
The Nationalist Party’s equal opportunities forum today called for further education to defeat Homophobia and Transphobia.
In a statement issued to mark the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia, the PN forum noted that despite the progress achieved in the struggle against discrimination, persons around the world “remain persecuted, isolated and abused because of their sexuality or gender identity.”
While condemning all forms of violence, discrimination and intolerance, the forum emphasised the need for more education to overcome homophobic and transphobic sentiments.
“Only through education can society truly become inclusive, appreciate the beauty of diversity and appreciate persons irrespectively of their sexual orientation.”
