‘No more political Sunday sermons’ – Simon Busuttil
Is the idea of a politics-free Sunday on the cards?
Opposition leader Simon Busuttil has said that it is time for ‘Sunday sermons’ by political leaders to stop.
Referring to the practice that party leaders address crowds or participate in radio interviews every Sunday, Busuttil took to Twitter to make known his opinion that this should stop.
Isn't it time for Sunday sermons by party leaders to stop? I say it is and I will go first. @PNmalta

This morning, Prime Minister Joseph Muscat gave an interview on Labour’s radio station.
On the other hand, the Nationalist Party invited the media to report the third day of a national conference on sports that the party is currently organising. But contrary to what happened for the past months, no political speech was broadcasted on the party’s radio.
It is still unknown whether the parties are currently discussing this issue or not, as attempts to contact the PN’s communications coordinator proved futile.
But last week, Prime Minister Joseph Muscat acknowledged that a sense of electoral fatigue exists in society and thus proposed that elections for local councils should be held with the European elections.
