President of the Republic Marie Louise Coleiro Preca presided over the inauguration of a virtual classroom, funded by Claudio Grech’s Save a Life Foundation.

The foundation was set up last year after Grech decided to donate his parliamentary honoraria for the good cause. The NGO focuses on helping to address social issues in his first district.

The new virtual classroom at the Valletta primary school, at a cost of €14,000, boasts of bright colours, wooden flooring and is equipped with the latest technology.

The aim is for the children to develop literacy and numeracy skills through the use of applications and tablets and to stimulate their creativity.

On her part, Coleiro Preca said the Presidency will be seeking the foundation’s support for future projects.
