Update 2: Motorcycle crash victim named, served as soldier with the Revenue Security Corps

The victim, identified as AFM Gunner 305 Jesmond Agius from Hamrun had reportedly just finished work and was returning home when he was involved in a collision with a concrete mixer that was veering to a side as it approached a busy junction next to the BOV centre in Mriehel.

The motorcyclist was caught between the truck’s wheels and died on the spot.

The 49-year-old truck driver from San Ġwann who works for a construction company had to be treated for shock.

Magistrate Gabriella Vella conducted an on-site investigation and ordered inquiry.

Police investigations are still ongoing.
