A small crowd gathered in Valletta in a show of solidarity with the people of Gaza who have been under siege by Israel for 10 days in renewed attacks on the occupied enclave.

Protestors called on the Maltese government and the international community to put end to the "brutal killing of children in Gaza".

"If Malta supports Israel's bid to sit on the UN Security Council it will be a grave error. How can you support a state which has ignored UN resolutions for 66 years? How can we sell our soul by supporting a state which has carried out a gradual genocide," Andre Callus, from the Palestine Solidarity Network, said.

As protestors made their way down Republic Street in Valletta chanting 'Free Free Palestine', Callus urged people to boycott companies selling products made on illegally occupied land in Palestine.

As the walk reached it's destination outside the Maltese parliament in St George's Square, Palestinian nationals called on the Maltese government to support the besieged people in Gaza, the West Bank and occupied territories.
