MTA chief decides to call it a day
Malta Tourism Authority chief Josef Formosa Gauci will be stepping down from CEO of the Malta Tourism Authority, Tourism Minister Zammit Lewis confirms
Josef Formosa Gauci, the CEO at Malta Tourism Authority has decided to tender his resignation. Talking to MaltaToday, tourism minister Edward Zammit Lewis confirmed that he had been approached by Josf Formosa Gauci who informed him that he would like to stand down from his post.
Zammit Lewis said that Formosa Gauci indicated that he would like to move on. He described the meeting as very cordial and Formosa Gauci also assured him that he would be ensuring a smooth changeover until a new chief executive was identified.
“I had a very good relationship with Mr Formosa Gauci and until a few minutes ago he was on the phone. We also discussed his future role without going into specifics about his future role as a consultant with MTA.”
Josef Formosa Gauci served as Malta Tourism Authority CEO for the last six years and was highly respected and supported by the tourism sector.
