Chris Said sues One News for libel
Parliamentary secretary Chris Said has this morning instituted libel proceedings against One News over a report broadcast last Sunday that alleged purjury during a case in Gozo that concerned the custody of a child.
Chris Said had reacted to the news soon after it was broadcast on Sunday, explaining that the report ignored the fact that the allegation made by a third party was repeatedly shot-down by the police, the Attorney General and the law courts, that determinied there was no reason to prosecute and that the alleged crime did not exist.
In his libel, Chris Said sued One News editor Glenn Beddingfield for defamation, and asked for damages.
