Mali man arrested over failed Sliema snatch and grab
ALE officers arrest second Malian man in as many days as theft is foiled
A Malian man has been arrested after two patrolling officers from the Administrative Law Enforcement unit spotted him robbing a young woman in Sliema earlier this afternoon.
Informed sources said the man, who is in his 30s and is currently residing in Hamrun, was in the same bus as his victim. Upon getting off the bus at around 6.20 p.m., the man is said to have followed the woman along Tower Road, Sliema. It is then understood that the man grabbed the woman's handbag.
The victim resisted her attacker which frustrated him and he pushed her to the ground. The young woman hit her head on the ground and suffred slight injuries.
This case is the second one in just as many days where ALE police officers arrested a Mali man who had just broke the
Witnesses pointed to the police who the alleged thief was and they stopped him just a few meters away. He was arrested and taken to Sliema Police Station and is now being investigated by District Police.
