Priest suffers slight injuries in traffic accident
32-year-old attempted to avoid incoming coach that was overpassing a bus on Burmarrad Road
A 32-year-old priest from Msida had a lucky escape when the car he was driving overturned after hitting the pavement to avoid a head-on collision with a coach.
At around 10:20am, the priest was driving his Maruti 800 in Burmarrad Road towards St Paul’s Bay, when from the opposite direction he saw a coach overpassing a bus. In a bid to avoid a head-on collision the priest swerved to the left, but also hit the pavement and a traffic sign.
The car overtuned upon impact.
A doctor who happened to be driving from the spot, stopped to give First Aid to the priest, who was later taken to Mater Dei Hospital where he was certified to have been suffering from slight injuries.
Traffic Police and District Police were on the scene of the accident.
