Hunters making private land to ward off trespassers

Hunters’ lobby FKNK tells members to warn trespassers they are setting foot on private hunting grounds.

The hunters’ federation (FKNK) has told its members to affix signs on their private land, to warn trespassers they are stepping on ‘hunting grounds’.

“Signs like these are found all over Europe,” Lino Farrugia, FKNK secretary said. Farrugia issued directives saying the signs must be green, to ensure they are aesthetically suitable for the surrounding environment.

If FKNK wants to be crediblel they should security stamp and number each sign so that the 'owner' of the hunting site can be traced if poaching of protected species is carried out there or if the sign is placed abusively on public land.

These notices are certainly better than painting directly on rocks and walls with bright red paint. I wonder what measures FKNK will take to ensure that they really are placed only on private land.
