New Chief Justice, Attorney General sworn in

Chief Justice Silvio Camilleri and Attorney General Peter Grech are sworn in.

Former Attorney General Silvio Camilleri was sworn in as Chief Justice today, replacing Chief Justice Emeritus Vincent de Gaetano who has been appointed as a judge on the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg.

Peter Grech has been sworn in as Attorney General.

The ceremony was presided over by President George Abela and witnessed by Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi, Justice Minister Carm Mifsud Bonnici, new Attorney General Peter Grech and Chief Justice Emeritus Vincent Degaetano and Dr Silvio Camilleri’s family.
