The former Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk, is currently in Malta learning English, according to the Polish media.

Tusk’s use of the language was often the target of media criticism, and now the President-designate of the European Council plans to master the English language.

It is not the first time that the European Union has sent officials for language courses in Malta, including Members of the European Parliament and other officials.

According to the Polish press, the EU covers all the expenses: business class flights, accommodation, food and individual learning courses on the condition that ‘students’ sit for a minimum of five hours a day.

He has travelled to Malta with his wife.
