Over 5,000 switched ID to Gozo in 10 years

In the 10-year period since October 2003, 5,196 citizens registered in Malta switched their ID card to Gozo, home affairs minister Manuel Mallia said today.

In reply to a Parliamentary Question, Mallia gave a detailed breakdown of the switches in the 10-year period ending in March of this year.

The highest number of switches came in the one period leading to the 2008 general election when between April 2007 and March 2008, 2,302 ID cards were switched from Malta to Gozo.
