Government appoints Ivan Falzon as the new chief executive officer of Mater Dei Hospital

The new chief executive officer of Mater Dei Hospital is Ivan Falzon, the government announced in a statement.

The Ministry for Health said Falzon will be replacing outgoing CEO Joe Caruana, who has been serving in these position for the last three years.

The ministry confirmed Caruana had been asked to extend his services by six months, after his contract expired in April 2014.

The Ministry for Health, and the parliamentary secretariat within the same ministry, thanked Caruana for his services.
