New Labour MP Joseph Farrugia has sworn the Oath of Allegiance

Joseph Farrugia has been returned to parliament after being last elected in 1996, and takes up Karmenu Vella's seat

Joseph Farrugia was this evening sworn in as a Member of Parliament after being elected in the casual election to fill the seat vacated by European Commissioner Karmenu Vella.

The Zurrieq businessman, known as Il-Farell, had already served as an MP between 1996 and 1998 during Alfred Sant's short-lived stint in government.
