Metropolis project amended to include further 118 parking spaces

MEPA board approves changes to Metropolis project in Gzira which include the redesign of podium area and the creation of more public open space

Last Thursday, the MEPA Board gave its green light for improved changes to the approved Metropolis Project, which project will see a €120 million, from an original €60 million, investment in the regeneration and upgrading of the area around Triq Testaferrata in Gzira.

The MEPA Board approved changes which include the increase in the car park facilities of the project by a further 118 spaces and the redesign of podium area which will result in the creation of more public open space within the project. Through the redesign, the piazza area which will have overhanging landscaped terraces will increase from 2210 sqm to 4265 sqm in public open space. 

Further modifications which have been approved include the elevations of the towers, the change of use from residential to office use of the east tower which will incorporate a gym, pool bar area and restaurant, and the inclusion of a private helipad on roof of the highest tower. A communal outdoor swimming pool and deck area was also approved on flat roof of the south tower.
