A rally car is expected to be brought over to Malta for the annual motor event 'Paqpaqli ghall-Istrina'.

This year's edition will also include a show by the Malta Armed Forces, a show by a stunt rider and a soapbox race. Paqpaqli founder Tonio Darmanin annouced that two Ferraris, along with some Porsches, Nissans and Radicals will also be brought over and people who donate money to Istrina will get a chance to test drive them.

This is the sixth consecutive year that Paqpaqli will fall under the President's patronage and President Marie Louise Coleiro Preca urged people to attend this event and donate money to Istrina, the proceeds of which go to the Malta Community Chest Fund.

"Paqpaqli has become a household name. It is not only an event for car enthusiasts but for their families as well," Coleiro Preca said.

"I will keep repeating this until everyone understands; the Malta Community Chest Fund is the only national fund that provides financial support to people suffering from serious illnesses such as cancer. Funding needs to keep on improving though; God forbid we ever come to a stage where we'll have to deny people help because of our lack of funds."

Paqpaqli ghall-Istrina will be held on 7 December at the Malta International Airport and the surrounding Hal-Farrug area.
