25-year-old jailed for using sibling’s ID card

A 25-year old man who admitted to having tried leaving Malta for London whith his brother’s ID card was today jailed for one year.

Jeremy James Farrugia, of Birkirkara, also admitted to having breached probation conditions and relapsing.

Legal aid lawyer Martin Fenech told the court Farrugia wanted to go to the UK for medical advice and was planning to return. Police inspector Keith Arnaud said the accused was on the contrary in posession of a one-way ticket. He also said Farrugia has a pending court case while also being investigated in another case.
