Minister Manuel Mallia has denied giving instructions to cover up the facts of the shooting incident that led to his driver being charged with attempted murder. He called for a professional media relations officer to handle police communications, saying that the current unit was under-resourced.

Enegery minister Konrad Mizzi returned to Malta yesterday after a trip to China to finalize the energy agreement. The deadline for the new gas power station was due to be announced by the end of November but that has now been delayed until Mizzi makes his speech in the House of Representatives.
