19 cases of sexual aggression against educators

19 cases of sexual aggression against teachers, LSAs and kindergarten assistants reported

There were 19 cases of sexual aggressions, including alleged attempted violent assault, against teachers, LSAs and kindergarten assistants.

The information was tabled in parliament by Education Minister Evarist Bartolo in reply to a question raised by shadow education minister Joe Cassar.

In reply to a separate question by the same MP, Bartolo said that there were seven reports of such assault during the 2013-2014 scholastic year.

The reports received were from St Margaret’s College, St Benedict’s College, St George Preca’s College, St Clara’s College, Maria Regina College, St Therese’s College and Thomas More College.

No reports were made from St Ignatius College, St Nicholas College and the Gozo College.
