Lou Bondì paid €54,000 to be OPM consultant
Former TVM broadcaster and self-declared Nationalist supporter is paid €54,000 as a consultant to the Prime Minister for the Fondazzjoni Ċelebrazzjonijiet Maltin
Former broadcaster Lou Bondì is being paid €54,000 – excluding VAT – for his services to the government as a consultant of the Prime Minister.
At €3,813 a month, plus an annual €8,240 retainer to cover operational expenses, Bondì – earns as much as Malta’s prime minister.
A former chairman of Radio 101 and presenter of Bondiplus on PBS, Bondì had his contract to serve as consultant to the Office of the Prime Minister renewed for another year, The Times reported today after obtaining the contract through a freedom of information request.
According to the new contract, signed between Bondì and civil service head Mario Cutajar, the former Bondiplus host serves as a consultant to the OPM’s Fondazzjoni Ċelebrazzjonijiet Maltin until the middle of next year.
He is engaged as a ‘person of trust’ and is not to be considered an employee of the government.
