Human rights organisations to march for equality

Human rights organisations aditus foundation, Breaking Limits, Integra Foundation, We Are and the Platform of Human Rights Organisations in Malta (PHROM) will walk through Valletta on Wednesday to spread awareness that human rights require more respect, protection and fulfillment in Malta.

In the event, 1Voice4All, the organisations will present a Civil Society statement to members of Parliament, underlining their belief that human rights are “irrespective of age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, ‘race’ or ethnicity, religion or any other difference”.

“We will urge the Maltese government to ensure civil society is regularly consulted on those themes, laws, policies and practices that affect the people we work with and for,” the organisations said in a statement. “We are inviting all civil society organisations and their members to stand side-by-side with us. 1Voice4All, to call for human rights for all.”

The march will commence at 17:30 at the City Gate in Republic Street, Valletta, and will coincide with the International Human Rights Day. For more details, one can send an e-mail to [email protected].
