House agrees to Wednesday’s debate on shooting inquiry
Government and Opposition agree to discuss the Sheehan shooting incident
A parliamentary debate on the Sheehan shooting incident, the inquiry of the three former judges and “the challenges that lie ahead” will be held tomorrow.
The Opposition had presented a no-confidence motion in former minister Manuel Mallia. But since Prime Minister Joseph Muscat sacked Manuel Mallia, the motion fell through. However the government suggested that a debate should still be held.
Earlier today, Muscat said the events of the past days and the removal of a minister and the chief of police should still be discussed in parliament.
The government and the opposition therefore agreed to hold a discussion tomorrow, between 6.30pm and 9.30pm. 90 minutes will be allocated for each side. The debate will be opened by the government and concluded by the opposition.
