Fenech Adami's 'loose talk' irks Nationalist MP Robert Arrigo

Nationalist MP Robert Arrigo said to be ‘irked’ by Birkirkara mayor’s observation on Nikki Dimech’s resignation.

‘Careless talk’ from Michael Fenech Adami appears to have angered Nationalist MP and tourism entrepreneur Robert Arrigo.

L-orizzont reports Arrigo took umbrage at Fenech Adami’s observation that Nikki Dimech, the former Sliema mayor who was first expelled from the PN and then resigned, “would bring down Arrigo with him.”

Dimech is facing criminal charges of having demanded a commission on a council contract he was to give to a former personal driver of Arrigo.

Dimech famously called Arrigo his “second father”, having served as Sliema Wanderers FC’s treasurer when the entrepreneur was club president. He was then elected mayor, having received the largest vote count in Sliema, thanks to Arrigo’s public support. But the two have fallen out since.

Fenech Adami has been called in by the administrative council to explain his comments, after Labour organ KullHadd was leaked details of the comments.

L-orizzont has previously reported that an outraged Michael Fenech Adami complained in an internal meeting of PN mayors that a cabinet minister had used public funds to throw a party at his residence, during the sixth year celebrations of Malta’s entry into the European Union no 30 April.

Michael001 Anybofy who has eyes to see can see the opportunities created by Labour during labour Governments as they can also see how foreigners are takign work from Maltese workers. I wonder whether you are living in Malta or not Michael001. As for the EU it did not create opportunities but only issues colonialist orders which we have to follow blindly even if they are destroying our characteristics as a Maltese nation and inundating us with foreigners and illegal immigrants. The only opportunities created by EU membership are for those of the inner circle and not the people who have been paying the EU millions upon millions just for membership apart from other taxes. You say the PN is no regime? Ask around and you will know. How about a few examples such when the PN attacked police officers for their actions against PN supporters and then when in Government instead of taking action against those same officers they were promoted? How about EFA who said that he will tell us who killed Karen Grech and Raymond Caruana and never got round to it? How about EFA shouting "Fejn huma l-Laburisti?". How about EFA appointing himself President? Even if you have a casual glance at the media you will see that the PN is riddled with allegations of corruption which Dr Gonzi says are only perceptions? As they say Michael001, il-qasba ma ccaqcaqx ghalxejn.

Right. Since you think that 'surfturtle' is correct, pls answer these questions: 1. Where are the so many foreigners taking our work? 2. If they take our properties, what can we do about it? It's an open and free market. 3. What about opportunities? When did we have 'opportunities' before? 'Opportunities' was born when we became members of the EU, that's what. So, what opportunities did we lose? Go on. Inspire me. Maybe I will agree with you. 4. This is no regime. The regime existed under Mintoff and under KMB. Remember when Mintoff ruled for 5 whole years when he jolly well knew he didn't have the majority of the people with him? Remember him jerrymandering with the electoral districts, dividing even villages, street by street? If you don't answer these questions, ... well, you will be daft like Sufturtle.

Dear Micheal, everyone feels the pain according to the bite he/she receives. Tell your stories to those people who have been under this regime for nearly 25 years. They will tell how they feel now! Its their fault, may be but those who have promised them heaven and then dragged them to hell are at bigger fault!!! ...and also...we are now being re-taken by foreign occupiers if that is your worry...And once again...they are overtaking our jobs, our properties and our opportunities away without any respect to the Maltese people. ...And our patriotic and "catholic" government keeps supporting this notion! What a mess!!!

And who is it that has taken over the Pieta' Boathouse which is public property and turned it into a restaurant?
