Muscat said that this was the first positive step and other opportunities for cooperation should be identified.
Maltese prime minister Joseph Muscat met with his Azeri counterpart, PM Artur Rasizade, and the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan.
The two leaders agreed that the signing of Memoranda of Understanding would further evolve the relationship between the two countries.
This includes, Rasizade said, cooperation in sectors other than energy. Muscat said that this was the first positive step and other opportunities for cooperation should be identified.
Rasizada said that Muscat’s visit signaled the first contact between the governments at a political level and that the next step would be strengthening the relationship between the Maltese and Azeri people.
