Maltese-registered company under British investigation

Maltese-registered company Local Billing Solutions Limited is currently under investigation by British authorities in connection to “cheating” on the sale of slimming products. The company reportedly controls at least 25 other artificial companies.

British investigations began after a number of persons filed reports for missing large sums of money from their credit cards, and were unable to stop the money from disappearing, it-Torca reported.

The missing money started being noticed after those being robbed bought into an online advert, which encouraged people to pay £3.99 for receiving a sample of a slimming product. However, they noticed that apart from failing to receive the product, they were being robbed of £80 a month.

The companies involved were promoting products made of Brazilian acai fruits, namely Absolute Acai, Acai Berry Detox and Life Cleanse. A similar situation in the US involving online robbery and cheating brought to total amount of money robbed to $100 million.
