Reshuffle shows PN willing to make changes - Busuttil
PN leader expects "the highest standards of performance and results" from shadow ministers
The PN’s shadow cabinet reshuffle shows that it is ready and willing to make the necessary changes to become a viable alternative to the Maltese people.
This was the message given by Opposition Leader Simon Busuttil during a press conference held at PN headquarters this afternoon.
“I expect the highest standards of performance and results from my shadow ministers because I believe the opposition can make a difference,” said Busuttil, pointing to the recent role of the opposition in the dismissal of Manuel Mallia, one of Labour’s most powerful cabinet ministers.
Busuttil told reporters that he will announce the first three assignments to the new shadow ministers on Monday, but in the meantime he wanted to send a clear and powerful message that the PN has heard the voice of the people and is continuing in its process of renewal.
The new shadow cabinet excludes party heavyweights such as former ministers Tonio Fenech, George Pullicino, Joe Cassar and Carm Mifsud Bonnici and former parliamentary assistant Robert Arrigo.
