MEPA decision on Dalli farmhouse postponed

Patrick Dalli unable to attend sitting but prefers to be present when MEPA decision is taken

sanction illegal works at a Zejtun farmhouse has been postponed after the applicant, Patrick Dalli, was unable to attend the meeting.

Equal Opportunities Minister Helena Dalli has come under fire after it turned out that the illegal works were carried out on a property that was still registered under her husband’s name – Patrick Dalli.

The case officer had recommended refusal, arguing that the scale and massing of the building proposed for sanctioning were considered to go beyond the allowable interventions.

The farmhouse is on a promise-of-sale agreement but it remains the property of the minister and her husband since no contract has yet been signed.
