‘Transfer list being concealed from Enemalta workers’ – UHM
Union Haddiema Maghqudin claums that high officials at Enemalta are refusing to show company employees a list of public sector jobs that they should use when applying for a job transfer
High officials at Enemalta are concealing a list of public sector jobs that the company’s employees should be able to use to apply for a transfer, the Union Haddiema Maghqudin said in a statement.
“They have refused to give a copy of this list to the workers who are or will soon be transferred,” UHM secretary general Josef Vella said in a statement. “This is despite prior intervention by our union for Enemalta’s management to stop acting with omerta and to become more transparent.”
The union said that job transfers aren’t a collective issue but an individual one.
“Each individual has the right to be treated according to his interests and exigencies,” Vella said. “Therefore, Enemalta workers have every right to recourse to their union of choice so as to receive a service or advice in this regard.
“We are not excluding any action, even legal action, so as to end this practice that is confusing, worrying and dividing the workers, rather than keeping their minds at rest.”
