Busuttil denies ‘false’ GWU allegations
PN denies Opposition leader asked GWU members at Enemalta to join UHM
The Nationalist Party said the General Workers’ Union (GWU) was wasting its time making false allegations against Opposition leader Simon Busuttil, instead of defending the rights of Enemalta workers.
The latest allegations made by the GWU were that Busuttil had met a number of workers in the transport sector and encouraged them to leave the GWU and join UHM instead. “This is a complete lie. GWU’s attack on Busuttil has a clear explanation, as it has taken place after the Nationalist Party revealed that the GWU is making €300,000 by renting part of its public property to a Government owned company,” the PN said.
“It’s no wonder that the government hasn’t spoken up to defend Enemalta workers who have been betrayed by Joseph Muscat and who didn’t find any sort of support from the GWU.”
