The administrative council of the Nationalist Party confirmed a decision taken by PN leader Simon Busuttil with regards to the “cases in the media in relation to the Swissleaks”.
“The council’s decision was unanimous,” the brief statement read.
Over the weekend Busuttil suspended two former Nationalist minister from the part following reports by the Malta Independent that the two held Swiss bank accounts.
Former Nationalist minister Michael Falzon pre-empted the newspaper on Saturday when he released a statement saying that he had held €465,000 in a Swiss bank account and which were repatriated under a PN amnesty. On the other hand, Ninu Zammit, has refused to declare monies held but said that he repatriated these under an investment repatriation scheme launched by the Labour administration last year.
