€21,000 invested in Gozitan diving sites since start of 2014
€15,000 spent on installing mobile toilets, €5,400 spent on installing shipwreck signals
The Ministry for Gozo has invested €20,775 on the 52 diving sites in Gozo since January 2014, Gozo Minister Anton Refalo revealed.
Responding to a parliamentary question by shadow Gozo minister Chris Said, Refalo said that the vast majority of this expenditure, €14,986, was spent on installing mobile toilets at diving sites.
A further €5,414 was spent on the installation of shipwreck signs, while €5,414 was spent on the installation of information panels, and €50 was spent on ‘other costs’.
“We are in continuous contact with diver representatives so as to identify their needs and carry out the necessary works,” Refalo said, adding that frequent maintenance is carried out on ladders used by divers.
