Electoral Commission issues voting document collection dates and times
The electoral commission issues statment to encourage those who have not received voting documents for referendum and local council elections to collect them from police stations on listed days and times
The Electoral Commission has issued a statement to encourage those who have not yet received their voting documents to call at their local police station to collect their documents upon showing their identity card or residence documents.
“Those persons whose name appears in the Electoral Register published on 26th January 2015, subject to additions, deletions and corrections ordered by the revising officer, that they may call personally at their local police station to collect their voting document by showing their identity card or residence document,” the statement reads.
It lists the days and times when people can collect their documents as the 26th, 28th, 29th, 30th and 31st March and the 1st and 2nd April, from 9.00 am till 1.00 pm and from 2.30 pm till 8.00 pm.
The commission said that On Our Lady of Sorrows day (27th March) and on Good Friday (3rd April) the hours of collection would be from 9.00 am till 1.00 pm, whereas on the last day, Saturday 4th April, the hours would be from 9.00 am till 1.00 pm and from 2.30 pm till 10.00 pm.
“In the locality of St Paul’s Bay voting documents shall be collected from the Qawra Police Station, while for the localities of Iklin, Ħal Lija, Marsaskala, Pembroke, Ta’ Xbiex and Fontana, voting documents shall be collected from the Local Council Office during the same days and hours,” the statement specifies.
The commission stressed that all applicants ought to show their identity card or residence document and that no other identity document would suffice.
It also added that every voter should ensure that the voting document is in his or her possession as nobody will be allowed to vote without it.
