15,477 referendum voting documents personally collected by voters
Uncollected voting documents decrease from 47,124 to 31,647
Some 15,477 eligible voters have personally collected their voting document for the spring hunting referendum after it was not delivered to their residence, for one reason or another.
This means that, of the 338,447 registered voters eligible to take part in the spring hunting referendum, some 306,800 voters are now in possession of their voting document, MaltaToday can confirm.
Registered voters have until next Thursday to collect their voting documents from the Counting Complex in Naxxar. Distribution of voting documents by police officers took place between 28 February and 18 March.
Figures provided by the Electoral Commission show that the number of uncollected voting documents went down to 31,647. The original figure of undelivered voting documents in connection with the referendum stood at 47,124.
On the other hand, of the 197,682 eligible voters in the local councils election, 38,180 have not yet collected their voting documents.
During the 2012 local councils election, a total of 33,375 (17%) of the then 192,257 voters failed to collect their votes. In the 2011’s divorce referendum, more than 20,700 voting documents (6%) remained uncollected.
The majority of voters who have not yet collected their voting document for the spring hunting referendum are registered in Qawra (2,974), Sliema (1,695), Birkirkara (1,527), Naxxar (1,393), Marsascala (1,322) and Mosta (1,101).
