Muscat, Aliyev discuss education cooperation between Malta and Azerbaijan
Maltese PM and Azerbaijani President discuss the possibility of collaboration in the education sector between the two countries
Prime Minister Joseph Muscat and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev discussed the possibility of cooperation between the two countries in the education sector.
In a press statement, the government said that this discussion took place following the recent agreement between France and Azerbaijai on the establishment of an Azerbaijani-French University in the Azerbaijani capital of Baku.
Muscat and Aliyev to continue examining the possibility of educational cooperation at a future date.
Muscat is in Azerbaijan to join discussions at the 3rd Global Baku Forum, an international conference. This year’s theme is ‘Building Trust in the Emerging World Order’. At the conference, Muscat is expected to deliver a keynote speech on the European Union and its neighbourhood policy.
The conference will include keynote speeches by the Presidents of Bulgaria, Macedonia and recorded messages by German Chancellor Angela Merkel and UK Prime Minister David Cameron.
The government said that Aliyev was “satisfied at the positive developments in relations between Malta and Azerbaijan”.
They quoted him as saying that he intends Azerbaijan to sign cooperation agreements with several EU member states, as he has recently signed with Italy, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Lithuania, and Greece.
