12kg gas cylinder prices down by 50c

12kg gas cylinder prices will decrease by 50c to €16.50, the ministry for the energy said this evening.

In a statement, the ministry said the price of the gas cylinders will be the cheapest it has been for the past four years between May and September. The higher price for this period ever reached was of €19.70 under the previous administration, it added.

“Price stability is doing away with the uncertainty that had long existed under the previous administrations and which is now making it easier for families and businesses to better manage their expenses,” the ministry said.

The energy ministry went on to thank Liquigas for its “cooperation” and the Malta Resources Authority.
