This was revealed by Culture Minister Owen Bonnici in response to three parliamentary questions by Opposition MP Carmelo Mifsud Bonnici.
77,149 people visited the Tarxien Temples in 2014, compared with 77,149 people in 2013. 37,590 people visited the Inquisitor’s Palace in Birgu in 2014, compared with 40,281 people in 2013. 26,562 people visited the Maritime Museum in Birgu in 2014, compared with 26,562 people in 2013.
However, Bonnici pointed out that although these three particular sites registered drops in visitors, 2014 was a record year for Heritage Malta in terms of visitors to all of its sites that are open to the public.
